Rosie Lynch

Rosie Lynch serves as LiKEN's Assistant Director, responsible for improving organization-wide systems and protocols, managing grants, and monitoring progress toward institutional goals. Rosie draws on her undergraduate studies in cultural anthropology and her Master's degree in Applied Community Development to help propel LiKEN forward in partnership with our team of directors. She has published an ethnography on a transnational yoga community, as well as National Science Foundation-funded work on higher education pedagogy during her time at James Madison University as a Teaching and Research Assistant on Individual Sustainability. She also has a rich background in campus and community organizing for climate action and protection against extractive industries in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, which was the focus of her graduate studies.

Rosie spent 8 years working at the intersection of higher education and community change as a Communications & Research Associate, followed by a Strategy & Impact Officer for Future Generations University based in Franklin, West Virginia. She then worked as a Development Consultant during her time living overseas with her husband whose teaching career took him to El Salvador. They recently moved back to the United States and are putting down roots in Shenandoah County, VA while raising their two young children to embrace nature and spread love whenever possible. Most recently, she's dedicating her free time to launching Wild Child: Museum & Menagerie: a place to "watch, teach, and wow wild animals of the tiny human variety" -- thus filling critical gaps for her community by providing nature-inspired programming and a child-friendly coworking space with free play and flexible childcare options.
