A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Jamari Turner graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BA in History. She is a master’s student in the University of Kentucky’s Community Leadership and Development program. Jamari is interested in the socio-history of the present time, with a specific interest in creating functional social entities that help underserved communities build brighter and self-determined futures. Her current research explores the intersection of intergenerational relationships, place-based identity, and collaborative filmmaking.
